In 2019 a new player effectiveness metric was created by Champion Data called Netpoints. On behalf of major partner Nissan, our brief was to bring this metric to life in a meaningful way for fans. We launched the Nissan Netpoints ‘Team of the Week.’

CREATING EDUCATED FANS

We have previously created a variety of player performance voting products for our clients. Netpoints is different. It is powered by an algorithm that outputs a comparison metric. We needed to educate fans. To give fans the information they needed, we introduced a statistical leaderboard that displayed the stats that contributed to the Netpoint value.

EXTENDING THE REACH OF THE PRODUCT

SSN wanted to ensure that the reach of the product extended beyond the landing page to give added organic value to Nissan. This was achieved by creating a user generated dynamic sharing component, that could be shared with a fans friends on their social media profile. Nissan were thrilled with the positive conversations that occurred from this competition.

TRULY AGILE DELIVERY

This project was the true test of agile methodology. We had 2 weeks to get this from concept to delivery. We worked with a remote front end developer to deliver this product. We had to rapidly prototype to sell the concept, design core components and communicate closely with front end to ensure the design matched the build & delivered on Nissans expectations.
