In partnership with BetEasy and its own sports streaming platform Kayo, News Corp Australia tasked us with creating Australia’s richest sports tipping competition. This product was positioned as a core component designed to increase digital subscription revenue with the goal of converting free to play participants into paid subscribers.

CONTEXTUAL SPONSORSHIP INTO GAMEPLAY UX

BetEasy’s desire is to increase volume of placed bets & free to play tipping offers a natural conversion opportunity to achieve this. The logical way to achieve this was to extend the traditional tipping UX to include a parlay calculator that displays the users potential winnings if a bet was placed.

CREATED USING SCALABLE DESIGN PRINCIPLES

We have designed plenty of tipping products in our time, however none have the ambitious audience numbers of Australia’s biggest publisher. This meant Tips.com.au needed to be designed with the future in mind. This approach ensures the desired audience growth & product feature roadmap can be supported.

$1 Million dollars. BUT WHAT DO I DO?

The promotional power of $1 million dollars prize money is pretty compelling. The most important part of this design was ensuring that fans understood what they needed to do, in order to be eligible to win. This resulted in the marquee game having a unique user flow compared to regular matches.
